As a holistic health and fertility specialist, I’ve come to see how the journey toward conception is about far more than biology. It’s about alignment — mind, body, and soul. On a recent episode of The Conscious Conception Show, I had the pleasure of speaking with Andrea Clarke, a womb and pelvic alchemist whose work helps women reconnect with the deepest feminine centers of creativity and power. Our conversation reminded me just how essential self-care, healing, and embodiment are before we bring new life into the world.
Andrea’s journey began nearly thirty years ago as a bodyworker and energy healer. Over time, she found herself drawn toward working with women facing fertility challenges. Through reproductive reflexology, fertility massage, and holistic pelvic care — as well as the profound work of feminine embodiment — she came to understand that the womb is more than an organ. It’s a place of memory, energy, and consciousness.
What really struck me was her belief that our womb carries not only our personal experiences but also ancestral imprints — patterns and energies passed down through generations. When we begin to heal those layers, we’re not just preparing for conception; we’re transforming our lineage.
Andrea shared how many women approach fertility from a purely physical standpoint, focusing on hormone levels or medical procedures. And while those are important, there’s often a deeper call beneath the surface — a wake-up call from the body. When there is pain, imbalance, or “dis-ease,” the body is gently (and sometimes not so gently) asking for attention. It’s an invitation to pause, breathe, and ask, What is this trying to tell me?
Self-care, she reminded us, isn’t about ticking boxes or following a checklist. It’s about doing what feels nurturing and nourishing — what makes the body feel safe and the heart feel held. True self-care might look like rest, gentle movement, journaling, or simply placing your hands on your womb and breathing into that space. When we do this not from obligation but from love, our bodies begin to soften and respond.
We also talked about how challenging it can be for women to receive — to truly allow care and nourishment in. So many of us are conditioned to give endlessly, often putting ourselves last. Yet the ability to receive is deeply connected to fertility. The womb is, after all, the ultimate receiver — and when we learn to open to love, care, and rest, we open to life itself.
Andrea spoke beautifully about how healing before conception isn’t just for us as individuals — it’s also for the souls waiting to come through. She believes, as I do, that the consciousness of the children being born today is evolving. These souls are seeking parents who are awakening, who are learning to live in alignment, and who are creating safe, nurturing spaces to welcome them in.
Imagine a mother who listens to her body, who rests when she bleeds, who nourishes herself deeply, and who has done the inner work to heal and release old wounds. What a beautiful, inviting environment for a baby to grow within.
As we closed our conversation, Andrea offered a simple yet powerful first step for anyone feeling disconnected: place one hand over your heart and one over your womb. Imagine a golden light flowing between them. Breathe. Notice how it feels. This gentle act of awareness begins to reconnect you to your inner landscape — the sacred ground from which all creation begins.
At the heart of it, this journey isn’t just about conceiving a baby. It’s about conceiving a new version of yourself — one that is whole, nourished, and aligned. Because when we nurture ourselves — mind, body, and spirit — we create the very best environment for our future children to thrive in.
That’s the heart of conscious conception.
Healthy, happy parents create healthy, happy babies.
